| What drew me to Kagoshima was fire and water. I went to see water first, the Kagoshima City Aquarium. I think this is supposed to be Japan's largest Aquarium and it is huge! The creatures here are from the sea close to Kagoshima and is a treat. No aquarium is complete without sharks and Kagoshima City Aquarium delivers here too. Sakurajima supplies the fire. It's an active volcano that steams. I took a ferry ride to get there and it looked like an island coming out of the sea between two chunks of land. It was truly a sight to behold and on the foot was a seaside hot spring that I took full advantage of. |
