2920 Zoo Dr, San Diego, CA 92103
619.234.3153

USA 2002 (July 29th) California, San Diego Zoo
Balboa Park's -- and perhaps the city's -- most famous attraction is its 100-acre zoo, and it deserves all the press it gets. Nearly 4,000 animals of some 800 diverse species roam in hospitable, expertly crafted habitats...   more

Monterey Bay Aquarium

886 Cannery Row at David Avenue, Monterey, CA 93953

The minute you hand over your ticket at this extraordinary aquarium you're surrounded by sea creatures; right at the entrance, you can see dozens of them swimming in a three-story-tall, sunlit kelp forest tank. The beaut...   more

SELL MORE WATER sign at Tiki Room snack bar register, Disneyland, Los Angeles, CA.JPG
We visited the park May 30-June 1 and had a wonderful time! The crowds were nonexistant and we didnt' wait in line longer than 5 minutes most of the time. We did however get to the parks at opening each...

Broadway at Columbus Avenue, San Francisco, CA

Washington Square - St. Peter & Paul Church
One of my absolute favorite areas of San Francisco. It's a mix of funky and ultra traditional Italian. Always a great place to eat (Enricos, Cafe Trieste or Citizen Thai), to lounge, to read, to stroll...

Palace of Fine Arts

Baker and Beach Sts., San Francisco, CA 94133

exploratorium washroom
At first glance this stunning, rosy rococo palace seems to be from another world, and indeed, it's the sole survivor of the many tinted-plaster structures (a temporary classical city of sorts) built for the 1915 Panama-P...   more

Pier 39

Beach St. at the Embarcadero, San Francisco, CA 94080

Mugging for the camera
PIER 39 is a multilevel waterfront complex a few blocks east of Fishermans Wharf. Constructed on an abandoned cargo pier, it is, ostensibly, a re-creation of a turn-of-the-20th-century street scene, but dont expect a sli...   more

The Rolling Stones @ Dodger stadium
What I saw of Dodger Stadium, I liked. The problem is, I was only able to see about one-third of it on my visit. Because of my seats on the third level, and the restrictive nature of the ushers, I was not able to explore...   more

Petco Park
Category: Camps + Parks + Sports
100 Park Boulevard, San Diego, CA

Standing Room Only
This is one of the best of the new parks, close behind PNC Park in Pittsburgh and possibly San Fran's park (whatever they are calling it this week). The prices arent too ridiculous by major league standards....

AT&T Park
Category: Camps + Parks + Sports
24 Willie Mays Plaza, San Francisco, CA 94107

Condiments
There are basically five seating areas in AT&T Park, and I spent some amount of time in most of them. I didn't even try to get to the Suites level, but my ticket was for the Club level, and I'd recommend trying to sc...   more

Pebble Beach
Category: Sightseeing + Tours
1700 17-Mile Drive, Pebble Beach, CA

Giant Mancala Board
It's a very nice golf course with some beautiful views but it's not worth the money compared to The Links at Pebble Beach. I'd play the links course twice, it's worth the extra $150.
