Molat Travel Guide

Molat is a place and an island with a population of 110 in the Zadar archipelago. The lone tower with a clock, set by the locals in 1933 when they finally managed to escape feudalism. Even though feudalism was abolished in 1848, the owner of Molat Konte Abelic refused to give up his rights of the feudal lord and had continued to collect one fifth of the produce from the inhabitants. This was the last stronghold of feudalism in Croatia. From the year 1941 to 1943 this was a notorious fascist concentration camp.
