Milna Travel Guide

wild beach explorer @ milna

Milna is a village (pop. 73) at an elevation of 3 meters above sea-level on the west coast of Brae, with the road that connects it to all the other places on the island. The inhabitants traditionally occupy themselves with maritime affairs, shipbuilding and tourism. It has developed in the 17th century round the baroque parish church of St. Mary's Blessing built in 1783., rich with paintings by the old masters. The ruins of the Napoleon's fort are in the vicinity. During Napoleonic wars the Russian fleet had their army base here in the year 1804.
