Chateau Lake Louise is a landmark luxury hotel, now part of the Fairmont chain, situated on the eastern shores of Lake Louise in Banff National Park. The castle-like hotel was built in the late 19th century by the Canadian Pacific Railway, and thus linked to other Canadian iconic hotels like the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City and the Banff Springs Hotel in Banff. The chateau has undergone renovations, replacements, and additions with the latest Mount Temple Wing opened only a few years ago in 2004.[1]
The chateau sits facing the stunningly beautiful emerald-green Lake Louise with glaciers and snow peaks looming in the background.[2] The areas surrounding the hotel are great for outdoor hiking, kayaking, canoeing, skiing, ice skating, and other outdoor winter and summer recreational activities.
