Centre Bourse Centre Bourse is only about a block away from La Canebière. This district features a mainstream shopping area full of noise, lighting, and air conditioning. In the Centre Bourse shopping complex, you’ll also find the Musée d’Histoire de Marseille (Marseille History Museum), which presents the history of the city through displays, miniature models, and archaeological finds. Right behind the Musée d’Histoire de Marseille to the north is the Jardin des Vestiges (Garden of Remains); this garden is situated on Marseille’s classical waterfront, the quai des Belges. It was here where excavations in 1967 uncovered remnants of an ancient Greek port and fortification; the remains included a city wall, a gateway, and three square towers that date back to around 3rd century BC.
